Andrea Ranocchia have overtaken Miranda in the race to fill in for the injured Stefan de Vrij in tomorrow night’s Coppa Italia quarter-final match at home to Lazio according to a report from Tuttosport.

A muscle injury will prevent the Dutchman from suiting up tomorrow against his employers and Ranocchia could be set to make just his second appearance of the season.

The 30-year-old centre back made his first appearance of the season in Inter’s 6-2 rout of Benevento in the previous round of the Coppa Italia at the beginning of the year.

The report from the Turin based newspaper has also brought an update on the injury situation of Sime Vrsaljko.

Croatian international Vrsaljko will go under the knife in a bid to correct a knee injury that has continued to cause him bother since his arrival at Inter in the Summer.

With him set to be out for a considerable amount of time as he recovers, new signing Cedric Soares will takeover from him in the team and will also take his place in the UEFA squad list.
