Inter’s Croatian international full-back Sime Vrsaljko will have to undergo surgery to resolve the knee issues that have plagued him since the World Cup, Boris Nemec, the doctor of the Croatian national team has confirmed.

Nemec was talking to the Croatian FA’s homepage where he stated that only after the player, who is owned by Atletico Madrid, has been operated, can anything regarding the extend of the injury be said.

“I can’t say when Sime will return to the pitch. Only after the doctors have operated on his knee we can know exactly what the situation is and  how long it will take before he can return to playing. In this case, it is fundamental that the player be patient and Sime will have to work with perseverance and determination.”

“We all want the operation to go perfectly, just like we want the recovery process to go well. We can’t wait to ave him at our disposal again with the National team.”
