Both Inter and Antonio Conte have played down the rumours but Gazzetta dello Sport report that he is in pole position to replace Luciano Spalletti on the Inter bench.

Conte – who last managed Chelsea in the Premier League – was caught walking around Milan near to Inter’s headquarters having reportedly held initial talks with Inter management about succeeding the under-pressure Spalletti but responded ‘no comment’ when quizzed by a reporter on the rumours.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that there is a potential gig that would allow him to make a return in the Premier League in the shape of Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has worked wonders with the Red Devils since taking over on a temporary basis after Jose Mourinho’s sacking but doubts still remain whether the Norwegian is the right person to take on the job at Old Trafford on a permanent basis.
