Andrea Ranocchia reflected on Inter’s recent poor run of form in an interview with Sky Sport after Inter lost 1-0 to Bologna at San Siro.

“There is a lot of disappointment in the dressing room but there is still a lot of time left in the league and we now have to think about the next game. These are incidents that are beginning to be enough, maybe it is not the right way.

“We have not been very lucky in the last few games but that cannot be a justification. We have to get back to playing like we were in the past and we therefore have to work and demonstrate it on the pitch.

“The problems we have are purely psychological. We have to change this trend quickly. We need to bounce back in the next game and win it.”

He was then asked if the events of the past few weeks during the transfer window have had an effect on the team.

“They did not help but now the transfer market is over and those who are here must fight for these colours until the end. What happens off the field does not have to affect the path of the team on it, we must all be on the same side.

He concluded by speaking on his lack of action this season with tonight’s substitute appearance just his second all season across all competitions.

“What I said in my post-match interview a few weeks ago is still true. When I am called upon I will give my best in any role. It is not the easiest thing to not play a lot but I can’t decide who does or doesn’t play but when I get called upon, I give my best.”
