Should Inter’s management decide to remove manager Luciano Spalletti from his post, they will be tasked with finding a replacement for the remainder of the season, something that will not be all that easy to do Gazzetta dello Sport report.
Antonio Conte has made it clear he does not wish to takeover in the middle of the season and it can be presumed that that is the outlook several other high profile managers have too.
The Milan based newspaper have suggested that the Nerazzurri could call upon club legend Esteban Cambiasso to try and steady the ship from Spalletti’s sacking until the end of the campaign.
The former midfielder – who spent a decade with the Nerazzurri – was assistant to Colombia manager Jose Pekerman during last years World Cup in Russia but aside from that has no managerial experience to his name.
While it would undoubtedly be a huge risk, one must only look at the success Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had at Manchester United since returning to his former club. Granted the Norwegian has far more managerial experience than Cambiasso but an argument could be made that knowing the club and the expectations of it has made more of a difference than his experience has.
