Inter CEO Beppe Marotta was interviewed by Italian broadcaster SportMediaset outside a charity event in central Milano whose goal was to raise funds for those affected by the tragic bridge collapse in Genoa.
The former Juventus CEO was asked about the rumors concerning Luciano Spalletti which suggest that a defeat against Parma in the Serie A, this Saturday night at the Stadio Ennio Tardini at 20.30 CET, would lead to the Nerazzurri coach being sacked.
Marotta was unequivocal in his denial when asked if Spalletti will stay on: “Yes. We can’t talk about that his job is at risk. In my last 22 years as a director in the Serie A I have never sacked a single manager. And here the conditions wont permit it to take place either.”
Luciano Spalletti’s men suffered their third straight defeat between the Serie A and the Coppa Italia after a 1-0 defeat at home at the hands of Bologna this past Sunday.
