No goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues has spent more time on the pitch than Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic since the start of 2014, CIES Football Observatory have highlighted in their latest report.
The Slovenian shot-stopper has played no less than 17,010 minutes between 01/01/14 and 28/01/19. Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes has the second most minutes among goalkeepers with 16,560, Sassuolo’s Andrea Consigli is third with 16,552, Manchester United’s David De Gea is fourth with 16,544 and Bordeaux’s Benoit Costil is fifth with 16,470.
In fact, Handanovic has played more minutes in that time than anyone else in the top five leagues, including outfield players.
