Inter and Milan are continuing to debate whether to renovate San Siro or build a new stadium entirely according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

As per the report, the two clubs have agreed to work on the area surrounding San Siro in what is the first step when it comes to either modernising the ground or building a new one.

The clubs have requested more land around the current stadium for the simple reason that they wish to increase commercial opportunities.

Milan’s city councillors for Urbanism Pierfrancesco Maran has commented on the latest developments, stating:

“It is very good that the clubs are working together on San Siro, which is what we hoped for and their letter is an important act, after the agreement they had signed some months ago. The requests they have made seem normal to me and I think we can discuss them in a peaceful manner. The city of Milan Milan deserves to have a stadium at the highest level.”
