Keita Balde is expected to return to Inter’s squad this weekend as the Nerazzurri face Parma, according to Sky Sport.

Luciano Spalletti is under pressure to secure a win at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday after last weekend’s humiliating defeat at home to Bologna.

However the Inter boss received a boost on Tuesday as Keita returned to first-team training at Appiano Gentile.

The Senegalese international picked up a thigh injury on 16 January and has missed the last four matches in all competitions, in which Inter have suffered three defeats and scored just one goal.

Borja Valero is less certain to recover in time after pulling up in the warm-up before the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Lazio with a knee problem.

Inter’s management attended training on Tuesday as speculation increases over Spalletti’s future at the club.

Chief executive Giuseppe Marotta told reporters yesterday the head coach was not at risk of the sack before criticising the players’ mentality in recent matches.
