Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini has shared what players he would have liked to see added to the Nerazzurri during the recent January transfer window.

“I think a midfielder would’ve been a good addition because Luciano Spalletti never has them all available. Had Inter not had all of these negative results there would not be accusations that Inter didn’t do enough in the transfer market,” he said in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

Mandorlini then went on to back Spalletti and believes he has enough experience to turn things round.

“I saw the game with Bologna and the players were anxious and as a result they made mistakes which is something that they did not do before. The players have lost a bit of confidence and their responsibilities grow in these tough conditions. It is always very difficult to play at San Siro. In the Inter world everything is amplified and exaggerated.

“Luciano has enough experience to come out of this situation. Making a managerial change would not help and it makes no sense to talk about the match with Parma as a last resort.

“Inter usually go in to crisis at this time of year but then recover. There is still a long way to go in the season and they are still in the Europa League.”
