FCInterNews.it have revealed the reasons why negotiations between Inter and Besiktas over a transfer involving Domagoj Vida never took off.

Firstly, Inter were wanting to take the Croatian centre back on loan with a redemption option while the Turkish giants were only interested in letting him go on a permanent basis in a transfer worth between €8-10 million.

Secondly, Vida was only willing to leave if he could be given assurances that he would be a starter for Inter rather than someone simply just there to step in off the bench.

Negotiations also broke down as a result of Miranda staying with Inter. The veteran Brazilian voiced his displeasure at his playing situation and was seemingly wanting away during the January transfer window. Despite interest from both Flamengo and Monaco, his wishes however were not granted and for that reason it made no sense for Inter to bring Vida in while Miranda was still with the club.
