In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Francesco Guidolin gave his opinion regarding the race for a place in the Champions League amongst teams in Serie A.

“Juventus and Napoli are fighting in a league between themselves while I see Inter as being a little more equipped thanks to the advantage they have in the standings over the others, but it will be a tight duel until the end, just like last season,” he told the Rome based newspaper.

Next he spoke on Inter dropping points and the gap closing between third and fourth place.

“There is a lot of confusion, and it can be seen from the outside, although I think that focusing on just one competition can give Spalletti some relief. If they play for all of them: with such a short time frame, it’s an unpredictable fight. Maybe there will be the exploits of some teams to widen their distance, and Torino can make themselves heard as well.”

He concluded by speaking on the situations of Lazio and Roma: “They have to win often, the secret is to know how to keep it up now that the second half of the season has started. Roma can achieve fourth, and they have the qualities of a good technician like Di Francesco, already against Milan they showed a reaction after the thrashing in the Italian Cup. Lazio is another beautiful team, last year they looked on course for a Champions League place until the last day against Inter.”
