Inter management have reassured Inter manager Luciano Spalletti about his position at the club and they have laid out their expectations for him this month according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Firstly Spalletti must stop changes tactics every week to avoid tactically confusing players and avoid tactical decisions like throwing defender Andrea Ranocchia on as a striker.
Secondly, they expect him to stop being so loyal to players who aren’t delivering as he was with Ivan Perisic early on in the season.
Thirdly, the club expect him to keep Inter in the Champions League places. Historically speaking, this something he has achieved in all barring one year since 2004/05 when managing elsewhere in Italy.
The report from the Milanese newspaper also touches upon changes Inter are intending to make to their corporate strategy in order to further support Spalletti. Firstly they spoke with him after the defeat to Bologna. Next, there will always be two members of senior management present at training each and every day to keep an eye on things. The management will now also look to avoid direct contact with players therefore meaning no more individual talks with players who can see it as an invasion in to the work being carried out and delegitimatising Spalletti, who seems to have lost the authority he had over the team earlier in the season.
