Standard Liege are keen to extend Zinho Vanheusden’s loan deal with the club for another season according to a report from Belgian news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.
The 19-year-old defender has spent the past year with the side in his native Belgium and is regarded as one of Inter’s top prospects.
This season Vanheusden has made 19 appearances across all competitions for Les Rouches – who, as per the report, will be counting on his personal desire to stick around to help them convince Inter to loan him to them for an extended period.
With Diego Godin seemingly set to join Inter in the Summer on a free transfer and persistent rumours that Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen is to follow him, it is probably best for all parties involved that Vanheusden stays with Standard where he will have the most opportunities to continue his development as a player. In a recent interview, his father has also declared he would like to see his son stay with Standard too.
