According Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Ivan Rakitic is liked a lot by Inter and the possibility of the Croatian midfielder leaving Barcelona is anything but impossible.

Barça’s management knows very well that the next few months will be delicate in the management of the group. The huge expenses of Bartomeu are the end of the golden years in which the Catalan club has spent without ever setting limits. The result is that the team’s wage-bill must inevitably come down.

In particular the recent and expensive purchase of the young Dutch midfielder, Frankie De Jong has raised the debt threshold and has upset Rakitic and his family. Ivan intends to rethink his own future and from his national teammates he knows that the Zhang family has a really ambitious project and are looking for world class players.

Furthermore, Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have in recent weeks been paying close attention to the discontent of the Rakitic family.

The Croatian’s entourage is also following an important negotiation for some sponsorship with well-known Chinese brands. This shows that his fame is also growing on the Asian markets, which is an evident effect of the Croatian’s performances at the Russian World Cup last summer.

This is another reason to believe that Inter are looking to complete this deal for two reasons: Firstly, he would be an excellent reinforcement in midfield due to his technical skills and personality and secondly Inter would be investing in a player that can be helpful for marketing and publicity across the world. These are both ways in which Suning intends on expanding the Inter brand.

Inter remain patient, waiting for Rakitic’s next move as he must take the first step, but there is no doubt about the enormous benefit that he would have in this Nerazzurri team. He is excellent both in a 4-3-3 and as a central midfielder alongside compatriot Brozovic in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
