Former Inter defender Nazzareno Canuti has discussed Lautaro Martinez and his playing situation after the Argentine came off the bench to score the winner against Parma last night.

“Pazza Inter is just like this. From time to time there will always be some drops in form. I am happy for Lautaro Martinez but so long as Luciano Spalletti doesn’t play with two strikers, he will not find much space on the pitch. Perhaps the coach is more comfortable with a one striker system. If he wanted to use a different system he should have done so earlier but to change it now seems risky.”

Canuti proceeded to speak on Radja Nainggolan and his performance last night which was one of his better performances since his arrival.

“The first part of the season needs to be forgotten He is a decisive player and I hope that from now on he will continue like this.”

He concluded by speaking on Mauro Icardi’s recent poor form.

“He needs to find tranquility and the team needs to put him in a position to score. They need to stop talking about money during the season. You can not use the excuse every year. If you play football you must think about the good of the team.”
