Luciano Spalletti was highly complimentary of some of his players as he spoke with Inter’s in-house channel Inter TV following the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win away to Parma.
“The team were back in possession of some of their qualities. Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino cleaned the ball up nicely as did Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij – both of whom performed like lions.
“Parma too have two very tough defenders and they made it hard for us to create chances. In the second half though we performed with more conviction and Lautaro scored for us to win the game.”
Next he spoke on the performances of Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic, two players who have come under scrutiny throughout the season for their performances.
“Nainggolan is close to finding the levels he has shown throughout his career. He has had many stops but now, if he continues like this, he is really close to making the most of all his characteristics.
“Perisic on the other hand is really professional. It was difficult to leave him out but in the past two games he has reacted like a great professional.”
He returned to discuss the game in general and suggested Inter are back on course.
“I expected a reaction and got things from the team that I have not seen in the last few games. We must defend ourselves from the things that can disturb our players and restore our confidence. We are on the right track but we need another three or four of these kind of victories and then everything can be considered as fine.”
He concluded by speaking about Borja Valero and Keita Balde and the chances of them featuring against Rapid Vienna.
“Let’s see, let’s evaluate their conditions. It is clear that they have not had a great deal of training behind them.”
