It took 80 minutes, but Luciano Spalletti’s men found a way past Parma to register their first league win of the year 2019. The 3 points will help in lifting the gloom and doom at Appiano Gentile in a huge way as Inter manage to keep the teams from Rome 5 points away for another week.

Samir Handanovic – 6: Didn’t have much to do all game. Simple couple of saves and he managed that easily. Another clean sheet and comfortable 90 minutes for Samir..

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Danilo does all the dirty work in defence and sometimes makes a run forward. Then he messes it up. Scored but it was correctly ruled out.

Stefan de Vrij – 6.5: Makes defending look so simple. Never against trouble and always in control. Moved the ball very well and kept the tempo going from defence.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: One foul all game that wasn’t up to standard but otherwise he was the usual brutal, beautiful beast of a central defender. Announce the renewal.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 6: Very timid in his approach in the first half. Gave up the ball leading to counters because he overdid it. Remedied the issue in the second half. Decent.

Matias Vecino – 5.5: Stayed along with Brozovic in the first half. Just played the simple passes and plays. Became a little more adventurous as the game went on at 0-0.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6: Very frustrating performance from Brozo. He starts everything, makes the right runs and passes all game. But his set pieces were rubbish.

Joao Mario – 6.5: Looked very comfortable on the right wing, where he plays often for Portugal. Made a few good runs and crosses. Still frightened to shoot.

Radja Nainggolan – 6.5: Radja’s most important performance in black and blue. Played like a leader, the leader Inter so lack in midfield. Got the assist and never stopped.

Ivan Perisic – 5.5: Just like his fellow Croatian international, he does all the decent work in buildup, but the quality of the final ball was consistently below average. Needs to improve.

Mauro Icardi – 5: Three months of not scoring from open play is showing. Woefully out of form and whatever little he got, he couldn’t convert. Tries too hard maybe.

Lautaro Martinez – 7: Spalletti took about 5 minutes too long in bringing him on. Lautaro was on fire from the moment he came on. Well taken goal but the overall play was brilliant.

Roberto Gagliardini – N/A: Time wasting substitution but maybe it means he will play next weekend in the Serie A. If he can get back to his best, it would help the team a lot.

Cedric Soares – N/A: Another time wasting sub made in injury time. It was more about taking Mauro Icardi off. Inter need him to take the set pieces ASAP. Please.

Luciano Spalletti – 6.5: Whatever was said at half time worked. Something clicked the moment Inter kicked off the second half. Long may this desire and hunger show. Make it count.

Massimiliano Irrati – 6.5: Not many Serie A referees get this high a rating. Irrati was almost error free tonight. If you want to nitpick, maybe he was in the way a few times.

Inter – 6: Giant step in the right direction. Now lets make it count in Vienna and at home against Sampdoria. Great attitude especially in the second half.

Agree? Disagree? Should Lautaro Martinez start on top next game instead of Icardi?
