If Inter are to sell Mauro Icardi, they will make a huge capital gain on him, a report from Calcio e Finanza details.

“Purchased in 2013 for €13 million from Sampdoria, on June 30, 2018 the player’s value on the balance sheet was €3.7 million. Come June 30 this year, Icardi will have a new value on the balance sheet of about €2.5 million, unless a contract renewal is signed by this point.

“In the event that a foreign clubs pays his €110 million release clause – active only between July 1-15 for non-Italian teams – therefore the capital gain would amount to about €107.5 million for Inter. While this would be a huge winfall for the corporate funds, a need to find a new top-level attacker on the transfer market would be created.”

The 25-year-old was yesterday stripped of the captain’s armband which has led to many media outlets speculating about his future with the club. This season he has made 28 appearances across all competitions scoring 15 goals in the process.
