Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport confirms that Mauro Icardi has excluded himself from tomorrow’s match against his former cub Sampdoria and continues separate training sessions in Appiano.

In view of the match against Sampdoria, it remains to be seen if Icardi, who is injured indefinitely, will still present himself at the stadium, where the reception for him would certainly be anything but pleasant.

One more reason to ask how long this can go on for is the two friendlies for Argentina against Venezuela on March 23rd and Morocco on March 26th, where they could make a change, as Icardi can not be called as an injured player.

There is also the Copa América in the summer to consider, which, for Maurito, would also be the first major tournament with the national team. So the newspaper consider whether Icardi can afford to lose that opportunity.

Perhaps the return of President Zhang in Italy will create an opportunity for reconciliation. With Icardi, Zhang has always had a direct and special relationship, albeit at a distance, Icardi also endorsed him for the choice of executives. It perhaps becomes easier now the president wants to have a chat face to face with Maurito on his return to Milan.
