Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara will be happy Inter have fallen out with her because that is what she wanted, Italian pundit and journalist Mario Sconcerti claimed today.

Wanda has made a series of denigrating comments towards Inter and their management this season while appearing on popular Sunday night TV show ‘Tiki Taka’, in what looked like an attempt to pressurise the club into renewing Icardi’s contract.

However Sconcerti has suggested the public fallout which has followed Inter’s decision to strip Icardi of the club captaincy was her intention all along.

“Inter couldn’t act any differently after everything Wanda has said,” Sconcerti wrote in his Corriere della Sera column.

“Ultimately though, I think she wanted to say certain things to cause a rift and that’s what has happened.”

Sconcerti also praised Inter’s decision to punish Icardi for his wife’s comments as a sign of the club’s growing authority.

“What’s happened to Icardi shows us that Inter exist as a club,” he concluded.
