Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara saw her car pelted with a rock this morning as she was driving with her children in Milan.
Wanda was not far from San Siro as she approached a motorway and is expected to formally press charges for what happened.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported there were no serious consequences but underlined how the incident would only further escalate the tension between the Icardi family and Inter supporters.
Wanda had already received a torrent of abuse from fans on social media this weekend after confirming she would appear on Mediaset’s ‘Tiki Taka’ program, for which she is a guest, as normal on Sunday evening.
She is seen by many as the root cause of the chaos engulfing Inter this week, after the club stripped Icardi of the captaincy following his failure to distance himself from denigrating comments she made on TV.
Icardi missed Inter’s victory over Rapid Vienna in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday and is expected to sit out tomorrow’s match against Sampdoria in Serie A as the drama continues.
