Gazzetta dello Sport have proposed Marcelo Brozovic and Milan Skriniar as possible new leaders on the park for Inter amidst the ongoing controversy involving Mauro Icardi.
Brozovic has been with the club for just over four years and has been part of many crisis situations at the club previously. He has seen several managers come and go, been whistled at by Inter fans and even been on the verge of a transfer away yet despite this, he recovered and played an important part in taking Inter in to the Champions League last season. He certainly doesn’t lack character – as evidenced by his social media posts or signs of intolerance at now former captain Icardi – and is an important player too.
As for Skriniar, he has earned the love and esteem of the Nerazzurri faithful for his consistently great performances in defence since his arrival. Despite having interest in his services from a host of top clubs, he is not interested which has further boosted how he is considered at the club. Should Icardi go on to leave the club, it would further strengthen Skriniar’s position with the club.
