Newly appointed Inter captain Samir Handanovic spoke with Inter TV after picking up his first victory at San Siro as the official club skipper.
“Winning today was crucial for us. These three points give us so much from every point of view. Sampdoria struggled from the first to the last minute against us as we dribbled well and put them in difficulty, especially in the first half,” he said.
“We knew that they came in to the game from a difficult moment and that it was not easy for them, but the important thing is to fight. I am happy for the result and for the boys.”
He concluded, “we wanted the game at all costs, especially after the other results in the league today. In general, we have given a boost to everything after all that happened during the week. At the end of the season all the matches are decisive.”
