Inter manager Luciano Spalletti shared his thoughts and feelings on his side’s 2-1 victory over Sampdoria this evening at San Siro.

“We showed a lot of character after their equaliser. We wanted to do something more in the first half but in the second half we did well even if at the end they did put three tall players up top and played it to their feet, so I had to call for some players to come back,” he told Inter TV.

Asked if he thinks Inter can now go on a long streak, Spalletti appeared unwilling to think too far ahead and dicussed the recent difficulties Inter have had.

“I do not know what will come of this and what will happen because there is always the chance of slipping up. The longer it lasts, the more difficult it gets. It happened last year and returned this year but now we are more attentive and trying to put an end to it with our superior personality.”

He concluded by praising Ivan Perisic, who put in one of his better performances in what has been a difficult season for him.

“Perisic ran for everyone and created plays of the highest quality. He is a player that has a thick skin both physically and on a human level. In short, he plays from his heart.”
