Inter winger Matteo Politano spoke to the gathered media in the mixed zone following Inter’s 2-1 victory over Sampdoria on Sunday evening.
Danilo D’Ambrosio opened the scoring for Inter but their lead was short lived as Sampdoria substitute Manolo Gabbiadini scored with his first touch of the ball. Radja Nainggolan would thunder one in soon after for Inter, a goal that would prove to be the match-winning one.
“The result was essential to give continuity to the other results but above all to further increase the distance between us and Lazio. We came in to the match as we usually would, we were focused on the game,” he said.
Next the Italian international spoke on Mauro Icardi and the recent chaos surrounding the now former Nerazzurri captain.
“Icardi? It will be up to the leadership to make things clear. We are united in the dressing room and today we have seen on the field that the team is compact. We as a squad are calm with Mauro, with us there is absolutely no problem.”
