Wanda Nara, the wife and agent of Inter striker Mauro Icardi, discussed the current situation between her, her husband, and Inter in the studios of Tiki Taka, firstly speaking on the recent decision to take the captain’s armband off Icardi.

“Mauro feels like they have taken off one of his legs. He plays with pride, he never thought about money. Mauro is very keen on the Inter shirt, he wore the armband with enormous pride and has always honoured it.”

When asked about the renewal, she responded: “I’m at the club’s disposal, Mauro was the first to believe in this team, he has scored more than 100 goals with this shirt.

“I was very pleased with Marotta said. He spoke about family, and my family in Italy is Inter. We are here for Inter and we do not want to go.”

She then revealed that she called upon the help of former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti.

“I called him to thank him. He told me to understand that this is just a difficult moment.”

She then spoke about Lautaro Martinez:

“Mauro and him are very close friends and Mauro supports him.”

She then assured that Icardi wishes to stay and spoke on the latest when it comes to contract renewal talks.

“Mauro is a very sincere person. He wants to stay at Inter. I repeat: I have never asked for a renewal for Mauro. I hope we will stay at Inter, but there are many variables that do not depend on us only. A year in the football world is a very long time frame. There is no problem with the renewal, Mauro will do everything for the good of Inter.”

She concluded by speaking on her relationship with the club.

“I never said anything against Inter, and since I have constant contacts with the management, if they wanted to tell me to stop talking about it on TV, it would make no sense to take it out on someone who does not even watch the program (Mauro.) I have never thought about stepping back from my role as Mauro’s agent.”
