Lautaro Martinez spoke to Inter TV today about the season so far, how far Inter can progress during the rest of the season and his thoughts on Inter so far.

“From my first day at Inter I always felt great affection from the fans who have treated me well. This is very important for a player.

“I am happy but I know that I have to keep working hard because it is all you can do to improve.

“Seeing as I am a newcomer here I had to take on some responsibility. Some games I was left on the bench, in others I was playing from the start and some I come on as a substitute. I always live out these situations in the same manner to help my team mates and to help Inter to win.”

He then spoke on what kind of difference a win makes.

“When you win, you can work much more happily and relaxed during the week. Right now we have a very important game against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League, a competition in which we want to go far starting with Thursday night at the San Siro with our fans behind us.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on Inter’s objectives for the remainder of the campaign.

“We are out of the Champions League and Coppa Italia: We have no choice but to do well in the Europa League, which is an important objective.

“We are aware that we are a long way behind Juventus in Serie A, but we play to win every game to try and reduce the gap between us and whoever is ahead of us, to help maintain our position in the league.”
