Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport highlights the relationship between Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici and their journey from Sampdoria to Juventus. Marotta was the first of the two to arrive in Juventus, then advocating for the arrival of Fabio Paratici in Turin.

They created the perfect team, winning Seven championships in a row, acquiring free, or almost free, transfers such as Pirlo, Pogba, Llorente and Khedira and they were joined by the likes of Tevez, Vidal and Higuain.

This was their joint policy until Cristiano Ronaldo. With the arrival of Ronaldo, the balance changed: Paratici was sitting next to CR7 on the day of his presentation, rewarded by the club for having played a central role in the negotiations.

It was a preview of what would happen shortly after: Agnelli at the beginning of Autumn chose to promote Paratic and Marotta, after saying goodbye to Juventus, moved across to their rivals, Inter. The many years they spent together cannot be cancelled with one action and the esteem and affection remain, but the inevitable rivalry between the clubs takes precedence.

Marotta and Paratici know each other so well that they can predict one another’s thoughts and strategies. Marotta is more used to the public eye whereas Paratici is shy and not very fond of the limelight. Together, they signed Dybala for Juventus in 2015, anticipating, among other clubs even Inter. Perhaps it was destiny therefore that the first call and response between Marotta and Paratici revolved around him.
