Gianfelice Facchetti has looked ahead to this weekend’s match between Fiorentina and Inter from which he predicts a difficult match for the Nerazzurri.

“I expect Inter to show further confirmation of what they have shown in the last two games,” the son of legendary Inter player Giacinto Facchetti told Violanews.com.

“It will be complicated for against Fiorentina because it is a traditionally difficult stadium to go and win at.

“La Viola’s fans are warming and give strength to their team on the park.

“I would like to see a continuation of the reaction Inter have shown after a difficult period in January.

“Against Parma and Sampdoria some of the most discussed players got heavily involved but we now have to see how they do in a more difficult match.”

He progressed to speak on Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli’s brief stint in charge at Inter in the past few years.

“He was immediately welcome and the fans have always been on his side.

“He always gets a good reception on his return to San Siro which is helped by the fact he has never hidden his love for the club.

“He was enthusiastic about his position at Inter but unfortunately he arrived at a time of corporate transition and this did not help him.”

Facchetti concluded the interview by speaking on Federico Chiesa, a player who has drawn strong links to Inter, among others, for some time now and Marco Benassi.

“It is impossible not to appreciate a boy with his talent,” he continued.

“I would not mind seeing Benassi back in the Nerazzurri shirt as he left while he was in the academy when Inter could afford to do without the boys of the Primavera.”
