So how many of you watched the Inter vs Sampdoria match? I was watching it with my cousin Michael and my Inter Club DC brother Wil Acevedo, we were amazed at the fluidity our attack had during the whole match. A first half which saw us with seven shots and three on target, but the goal didn’t come. I know most were thinking to themselves sheesh another typical Inter game, but no by any means this wasn’t.

Watching Perisic and Nainggolan pressing the situation and pressing for the goal showed that these guys meant business and wanted to prove a point. Whether it was the fact that Wanda and Mauro were in the stands or the fact that the two felt they had to prove to the fans they deserved the shirt after a messy January for each one of those players in their own way. The grinta that was displayed was something that seemed to be missing for the run of games before the last week.

This Inter showed that they were fighters, when my boy Danilo scored the first goal man the relief kicked in and it felt like we were surging forward to score more. Instead I felt like I was watching Creed 2, after a nice haymaker from Adonis Creed there comes Victor Drago or in this case Gabbiadini with the equalizer after a defensive lapse from of all people Skriniar.

Right after the goal Inter surged forward and of course who was behind the surge? Perisic and Nainggolan begging for the ball scratching and clawing their way forward. The chess match continued and the boys took it to Sampdoria, we saw Samp scared and we pressed and sure enough the second goal fell. the deeper we got into the game the boys looked more and more hungry and composed, A team that is ready to surge forward and finish in the top three this season.

Now let me take a second to admire the performance Lautoro Martinez displayed! Sheesh, the kid wouldn’t stop he kept fighting for balls, his play with Perisic was deadly. Showing that he may be ready to step in and start taking the pay load from Mauro should he choose not to return back to the ranks. His flow to the game had me impressed, whether it was his passing, fighting for every ball, opening holes up for players with his runs, he was everywhere! I know many people reading this will probably say “Christian we know you hate Mauro so it’s expected that you would big up El Toro.” But honestly I almost forgot what it’s like to have a striker that can press and fight the way he did.

It was quite refreshing to have a different tactical strategy to the game, seeing us play through the middle. Whether it was Politano or Perisic, the way they would cut in from the wing and take shots was very refreshing. I almost fell out my chair when the second goal came from Nainggolan, I mean the strike was stunning and it was right after Sampdoria scored. Seeing the response from the boys was very welcoming. Last week before all the Icardi days of our lives drama, I would’ve expected our boys to drop their heads and probably concede another.

These guys showed guts and glory and proved that they don’t need Mauro as much as he thinks they do, after the match Nainggolan said something that caught me and showed me who he is. He pretty much stated that when Mauro is done with all this media stuff the team is there for him to talk to, that was the olive branch that I’ve been waiting for. Someone had to extend it now if Mauro takes it, that’s a different story. Noticeably he didn’t celebrate once Nainggolan scored, the commentators on ESPN+ said it best. Mauro reacting that way is fueling that the rumors maybe true that he doesn’t get along with Ivan, Marcelo, and Radja.

I really didn’t want to get to involved in this article with the Icardi situation as I will leave that for others to have fun with, all I will say is he needs to grow up and learn from this situation. In conclusion Danilo D’Ambrosio Is A GOAT. I just have to mention that for all the people who hate on my boy.
