Danilo D’Ambrosio was interviewed ahead of Inter’s game against Rapid Vienna in the club’s series Matchday Program released on their homepage.

He starts by talking about what Inter means to him and how important it is for him to wear these colors.

“For me, Inter is the past, present, and future, because when I saw Inter win the treble, I said: ‘I want to play with these colors.’ Among all the champions, Maicon has always impressed me so much. Today, I am giving everything for this shirt because I want to deserve to belong to this club.”

Off the field, D’Ambrosio dedicates a lot of time to his family, his son in particular. “He loves to be around, so we’ll go for a walk as soon as I get back from training.”

As a good Neapolitan, he explains his passion for pizza:

“My father ran a pizzeria for 30 years. I like to make it at home, but without any anchovies, I can’t stand them.”

Even his twin brother Dario is a footballer who now plays at Robur Siena in Serie C:

“We left home at the age of 13. At the beginning it was difficult to live far away from our friends, but we’ve always had each other. Our love for the game has prevailed over everything.”
