Mauro Icardi is unlikely to be in the squad for Inter’s trip to Florence this weekend according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Argentine striker has missed Inter’s past two games and will miss tonight’s match with Rapid Vienna.

He alerted the club that he was feeling pain in his knee and yesterday underwent testing. The tests confirmed however that there was no injury and it remains to be seen when he will now return to action.

The Rome based newspaper question whether Icardi would make himself available in the event that Lautaro Martinez picks up a booking on Sunday which would trigger an automatic one game suspension for the next Serie A game.

If Lautaro is to be suspended for the match and Icardi does not play, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti will be left with zero strikers to chose from for the match away to Cagliari on March 1.

The report goes on to state that at the moment it is unlikely that Icardi will receive a call-up to the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendly matches at the end of next month.
