Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Inter winger Ivan Perisic is back to his best after his performance against Samporia over the weekend.

“After the transfer market closed, the Croatian has changed gear,” they believe.

“If Nainggolan getting back to his best was related to his condition, Perisic’s was due to his attitude, morals and belief.

“He does not do anything by half measures and even during the dark days, there was no discontent from him.

“Against Samp he has played his best performance of the season and is one of the most credible weapons for the pursuit of the Europa League, starting with today’s match against Rapid Vienna.”

Perisic assisted the opening goal in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria and his delight was clear to see as he rushed to celebrate with goalscorer Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Should he be able to continue to perform like he did on Sunday then he could become a leader among the current team, something they currently lack outfield due to Mauro Icardi losing the captaincy and not playing.
