Andrea Ranocchia has shared his delight at Inter’s 4-0 win over Rapid Vienna in the Europa League last night that has seen the Nerazzurri progress to the next round.

“I am happy with the goal I scored. I scored and we achieved a victory that we needed. Progressing to the next round was our goal,” he told Inter TV.

The Italian was given a chance to play and an ever rarer opportunity to start and was pleased with his efforts.

“For anyone it is important to play as much as possible and I feel I have made the most of the few chances I have had. There is a lot of competition in the team, the important thing is not to make mistakes when we are called upon.

“I work hard to make myself ready and I am happy with the performance I have given. It is not easy to play a little amount but you always have to be ready as a professional. We had an important performance as a team that was needed after the recent events.”
