Inter and Mauro Icardi are seemingly destined to go their separate ways in the Summer, at least according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The recent tension has caused irreparable damage and the relationship between the parties would appear to be as good as over.

Icardi was recently stripped of the Inter captaincy in what the club have labelled a decision for the best of the team.

In wake of losing the captaincy, Icardi rejected the call-up for Inter’s Europa League round of 32 first leg with Rapid Vienna citing an injury to his knee as the reason behind this.

He would then use the same reason to miss the 2-1 win over Sampdoria and Inter then decided they would put him through medical testing to determine any damage.

The tests came back negative and showed no change from the results recorded in pre-season but he remained out of the squad for last night’s 4-0 triumph over Rapid Vienna in the second leg.

Moreover, he now looks pretty certain to miss this Sunday’s match with Fiorentina too and it remains anybody’s guess as to when he may make a return to action.
