Inter CEO Beppe Marotta stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, moments before kick off in the Serie A at the Stadio Artemio Franchi as is now traditional, to answer questions regarding the club.

The former Juventus CEO was asked to give an update on the negotiations with Mauro Icardi regarding a contract extension, stating that talks were ongoing.

“I don’t know if this is the week where we will agree terms about a new contract, it is a commitment that we have made with Mrs Wanda, we will move forward with it but then we will  understand what the response will be. We will make our offer and I don’t know what the response will be.”

“However, I can say that the situation is completely different one with respect to the one that is being discussed right now.”

“We are concentrated on the final stretch of the league. It is important to give continuity to the recent stretch of results. We all need to frame the recent performances by Perisic.”
