Ivan Perisic and Federico Chiesa are set to face off tonight as Perisic’s Inter take on Chiesa’s Fiorentina in Florence in what could be seen as Inter’s present taking on Inter’s future according to a report from Tuttosport.
Chiesa has been strongly linked with a move to Inter for quite some time while Juventus have also shown an interest in the Italian starlet.
Chiesa is understood to be valued at €70 million by La Viola’s leadership, a figure presently outside of Inter’s budget.
However, should Inter sell Mauro Icardi for – or near – to his €110 million release clause, the Nerazzurri could swoop for Chiesa and replace Icardi with Roma’s Edin Dzeko. Alternatively, they could put the funds towards a move to Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, another player that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta dreams of.
As for Perisic, he looked destined to leave in January having formally submitted a transfer request. No move transpired for the Croatian and in the past few games he has performed really well and showed that he can still be an important player for Inter.
The Turin based newspaper goes on to state that Perisic could stay past this Summer and keeping him around could help Inter out in their bid to land Ivan Rakitic.
Rakitic is also reportedly of interest to Bayern Munich and PSG but the chance to join national team teammates Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic could see him set his eyes on Inter. After all, it was thanks to Perisic and Brozovic that Sime Vrsaljko was convinced to join Inter.
