Keita Balde could be set to spend a further two weeks on the sidelines due to the thigh injury he sustained in training back in January according to a report from Tuttosport.
It is a particularly delicate injury for the Senegalese whose game very much relies on the power in his thighs to get him running at top speed.
Inter manager Luciano Spalletti sees the winger as his third best option at striker behind Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez.
With mystery remaining when it comes to when Icardi will play next, this news will comes as a blow to Spalletti who could soon be left without any recognised strikers in the first team if Lautaro is to pick up another booking in the league.
Spalletti does not wish to rush 23-year-old Keita back though and Keita himself does not feel ready yet to make a return to action.
This season Keita has made 21 appearances for the Nerazzurri in which he has scored four goals and tallied three assists.
