Cagliari president Tomasso Giulini has looked ahead to tomorrow night’s match at home to Inter.
“It is an important game. It will be difficult but we will face it convinced of our own ability,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This year we have shown we have quality and are able to fight and we will have to have a perfect match [if we wish to beat Inter].”
Referees in Italy have come in for a lot of criticism of late but Giulini stressed he’s not interested.
“I am not interested in talking about the referee. I am sure the referee will do well and he will not be a problem.
“We must think only about playing in this final stretch where teams are playing for a lot and it would be wrong for anyone to be pointing the finger at the officials or fearing being on the wrong end of a mistake.
“I know from experience that it is not easy to control tension. That goes not only for referees but the players too,” he continued.
Asked for a predication he said: “Against Inter I only hope to see the best form of Cagliari, the rest, as always, will be decided on the field.”
