Despite not being involved at Inter for a few years now, former owner and president Massimo Moratti remains, what Tuttosport describe as, a ‘cumbersome’ figure at the club.
Moratti recently backed the arrival of chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and came to the defence of Mauro Icardi, whose Inter future is up in the air after he was stripped of the Inter captaincy. Moratti’s words on Icardi were not taken well at Inter headquarters as evidenced by the fact Marotta replied to them days later.
The report from Tutosport then goes on to suggests that Moratti could be behind Jose Mourinho’s recent comments about Inter where the ‘Special One’ has suggested he’d return to Inter.
The Turin based newspaper go on to explain their claim recalling that Moratti, who spent 18 years in charge of the Nerazzurri, has been critical of current Inter manager Luciano Spalletti in the past and does not seem all too enthused about the idea of Antonio Conte possibly replacing him.
