A swap deal involving Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala between Inter and Juventus is more than just paper talk according to a report from Rome based newspaper La Repubblica.
The events of the past few weeks/months – including Icardi being stripped of the Inter captaincy – have contributed to this becoming more than just a ‘mere suggestion’ and it could be something that could happen at the end of the season.
The report from La Repubblica also details that the signing of a new contract extension is not and has never been a priority for Inter.
With Icardi’s stock undoubtedly damaged by the recent events, Inter could even be willing to lower his release clause in the event that an offer of around €70-80 million arrives.
Even though the price would be reduced it would still represent a significant capital gain on the €13 million that the Nerazzurri paid Sampdoria to sign him back in 2013.
