Inter legend Marco Materazzi has goaded the Nerazzurri’s arch rivals Juventus over their latest failed bid to win the treble.

The Bianconeri are on the brink of elimination from the Champions League at the last 16 stage after losing 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in last week’s first leg.

However, Max Allegri’s side are already out of the running to win all three trophies after being knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Atalanta in January.

“Simeone’s team should have finished the tie in the first leg,” Materazzi told Gazzetta dello Sport magazine Fuorigioco on Sunday.

“For how the game went it could have ended 4-0 and not having killed Juventus off could come back to haunt the Spanish side.

“As an Interista I wouldn’t suffer too much if Juventus did go on to win the Champions League, though. Not least because the ‘Triplete’ has already disappeared for them on a cold night in Bergamo…”
