Speaking to Sky Sport Italia the former Inter, Milan and Juventus midfielder, Andrea Pirlo gave his thoughts on the Mauro Icardi saga that has hogged the football headlines in the past weeks.
The former Italian International said “the captains armband has to be merited, whether someone uses social media to talk or not is not important. Mauro must talk to his team mates and his manager. He needs to go in to the locker room and apologise for how he has behaved, then in time, maybe he can regain the captain’s armband again.”
Pirlo who was speaking on the weekly football show on the Italian TV network called Sky Calcio Club. The former New York City player has been working for Sky Italia since his retirement and is a regular pundit for the network. To finish his point his added “I think this is a problem that has manifested itself now in this manner but has been going on for a while.”
