Former Italy and Milan defender, Alessandro Costacurta, gave his thoughts on the Mauro Icardi situation developing at Inter and he didn’t mix his words.

Speaking on Sky Italia’s weekly magazine football show, Sky Calcio Club, he said: “I did not like Icardi’s letter published on social media, it was self congratulatory. We as players have al had big offers from other teams and have had to play through injuries and pain, but non of us wrote a letter to re-vindicate it.”

The letter Costacurta was referring to was one that the former Inter captain Icardi, posted on his Instagram account during the week breaking his silence on the rift that has occurred between himself and Inter during the weeks after the club stripped the striker of the captaincy.

Costacurta who had a great career with Milan winning 7 Serie A league titles and collecting no less than 5 UEFA Champions League winners medals went on to say: “the moment Icardi goes into the changing room and apologises to his team mates,  then we will see the best of Mauro Icardi.”
