In the meeting between Mauro Icardi, the Inter medical staff and manager Luciano Spalletti, Icardi insisted that he is still feeling pain in his knee according to a report from broadcaster Sky Sport.

The Argentine striker has missed Inter’s past five games and it remains to be seen when he will make a return to first team action.

The report goes on to state that Icardi could sit down again with Spalletti to speak further on the situation as early as tomorrow.

Contrary to other reports that have circulated, Sky Sport have stressed that there was no reconciliation between Icardi and Inter teammate Ivan Perisic at training and with regard to a contract renewal, no date has been set for Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Icardi to sit down and discuss it. Although, that date is unlikely to be anytime soon due to the continued tension between the player and club.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport meanwhile details that Icardi has already communicated his decision to not travel to Frankfurt for Thursday’s Europa League match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
