AC Milan Pushing To Build A New Stadium With Inter – San Siro Could Be Demolished

Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reports on the on going discussions about the Stadium situation in Milano.

It is reported that theSan Siro could be modernized, which is the preferred option of Mayor Sala or Inter and Milan could decide to build a new stadium from scratch.

The conversations between the City and the clubs have been going on for quite some time. In the beginning of the year Inter and Milan had asked for guarantees on the commercial exploitation of the surrounding San Siro area and larger building possibilities, obtaining a positive response last week, but only on the first point.

The two teams, as confirmed by the Nerazzurri CEO Alessandro Antonello and the Rossoneri President Paolo Scaroni have confirmed they want to have a top stadium together in Europe, they are working on several projects, and they plan to close the technical issues by the end of the month.

The reference model provides a capacity of around 60,000 seats, with cutting-edge services that brings the fans closer to the team, as well as those abroad. There is the aim to bring the stadium’s turnover to six figures, and it is possible to assign the name of the Stadium to a sponsor, as Juventus have done with the Allianz Arena.

News is filtering through from the Rossonerri camp that demolition would be the most probable scenario for the Giuseppe Meazza, although there has been no final decision that is in agreement with Inter explains the Gazzetta dello Sport.

For Milan it makes little sense to invest €200-300 Million in restructuring a stadium that would not lead to it becoming an asset of the club. Elliott intends to exploit the maximum profit before selling the club and therefore it is better to invest €600 million and share with Inter, to add value and a valuable asset.
