Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has spoken on the contract situation of Ivan Rakitic amid alleged continued interest in the Croatian’s services from a number of clubs.

The soon-to-be 31-year-old has drawn strong links to Inter, Paris St. Germain and Bayern Munich in recent weeks and could be set for a move away if the various reports are to be believed.

This season he has made 39 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored five goals and tallied seven assists.

“He has a contract with the club until 2021 with an option for the following season,” Bartomeu insisted in an interview with Cadena Ser.

“Lately we have been very focused on talks with Jordi Alba, who is the best left back in the world but we will soon talk with Ivan about a new deal.

He concluded: “We are also focused on the end of this season and preparing for the next one.”
