Inter Striker Icardi Could Be Available For Selection Again Soon

Mauro Icardi could soon be back available to Inter manager Luciano Spalletti for selection according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

As from tomorrow the Argentine striker could return to full training with the rest of his teammates in view of Sunday’s match at San Siro.

The turning point to this long winded saga came yesterday following an hour-long meeting between Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta, Icardi, his wife/agent Wanda Nara and lawyer Paolo Nicoletti, who was formerly the deputy FIGC commissioner and someone who has always been close to Inter. The Icardi’s called upon Nicoletti in a bid to help them try and find a solution.

Gazzetta then go on to discuss some of the details of the meeting.

The removal of the captain’s armband was discussed but it was not one of the main points of the meeting. This is because Icardi now knows that he will not get the band back due to the effect it could have on the rest of the team if he did.

There was little, if any talk at all, about a possible renewal as the parties are  aware that this saga is not down to money.

Thirdly, Icardi asked Marotta to not be continually painted as a problem in the dressing room and a problem for the management team. Marotta took the request on board and requested that a quick solution to all the problems was found.

The report goes on to state that a meeting with Inter president Steven Zhang could take place next week and after just under a month away he could soon return.
