Inter Defender Asamoah: “We Knew It Would Be Difficult But We Achieved A Good Result”

Kwadwo Asamoah reflected on what he believes was a positive result for Inter in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash with Eintracht Frankfurt as they drew 0-0 away from home.

“In the first half we managed the ball better and created a lot. Then in the second half we had to defend against a team that pressed a lot but in the end we achieved a good result without conceding a goal,” he remarked in an interview with broadcaster Sky Sport post-match at the Commerzbank Arena.

“We knew it would be difficult here with their fans pushing their players on. We learned from our last performance but we still have to do more and go above and beyond 100% against each and every team we face.

He then spoke on the booking he received which means he will be suspended for the return leg next week.

“I thought the referee was giving us the free kick but instead he gave it to them and a yellow to me. After I got the yellow I had to take things slower and pay closer attention.”
